The nervous system is a complex network of cells, tissues, and organs that coordinates and controls the functions of the body. It is composed of two main parts: the central nervous system (CNS) and the peripheral nervous system (PNS).
The central nervous system includes the brain and the spinal cord, which are responsible for processing information and controlling the body’s responses. The peripheral nervous system includes all the nerves and ganglia outside of the brain and spinal cord and is responsible for transmitting information between the CNS and the rest of the body.
The nervous system is essential for many functions in the body, such as movement, sensation, perception, learning, memory, and cognition. It plays a critical role in maintaining homeostasis and responding to changes in the internal and external environment.
