“Unicellular” and “multicellular” are terms used to describe the organization of living organisms.
“Unicellular” refers to an organism that consists of only one cell. Examples of unicellular organisms include bacteria, archaea, and some protists. These organisms perform all of their life processes within a single cell.
“Multicellular” refers to an organism that consists of more than one cell. Most animals, plants, and fungi are multicellular organisms. Multicellular organisms are composed of many cells that work together to perform various functions. Each cell in a multicellular organism may have a specific role, and cells are organized into tissues, organs, and organ systems to carry out different functions within the organism.
