Sexual reproduction: This type of reproduction involves the fusion of gametes (reproductive cells) from two parents to form a zygote, which develops into a new individual with a unique combination of genetic traits. Sexual reproduction is common in most animals, as well as in some plants and fungi. Sexual reproduction requires the production of specialized gametes (sperm and egg cells) that unite during fertilization to form a zygote. This process enables genetic diversity and adaptation in the offspring, which can help the species survive in changing environments.
