The environment refers to the physical, biological, and social surroundings in which an organism or a community of organisms live and interact. It includes both living and nonliving components, such as air, water, soil, plants, animals, and human societies.
The environment plays a critical role in sustaining life on Earth, providing essential resources such as food, water, and air. It also regulates the Earth’s climate and weather patterns, and is the source of numerous ecosystem services such as pollination, nutrient cycling, and soil formation.
Human activities, such as industrialization, agriculture, and urbanization, have had significant impacts on the environment, often resulting in environmental degradation, pollution, and biodiversity loss. As such, environmental conservation and sustainability have become increasingly important issues in recent years, with efforts being made to minimize the negative impacts of human activities and promote sustainable development practices.
